Welcome to Wild At Hart...

...where I hope you'll find many ways to brighten the corner where you are. I can literally transform that corner with a little paint and some imagination. Or if you're not ready to take the plunge with a mural, check out my personalized name art, a great way to make a room special.

While my specialty is creating for children, you'll find that there are elegant options for the adults in your lives as well.

Over the years, I've painted everything from the practical to the unusual. Just to name a few: windows, walls, mailboxes, milk cans, wooden letters, window shades, and even faces. If you want it painted, contact me and I'll help you turn your vision into reality. After all, you're only limited by your imagination!

Rubber Ducky You're The One....K for Karlie

I made this one for a co-worker who called her baby "Ducky" even before she was born. Nursery colors were hot pink and yellow with a floral and bumble bee theme. Initial art starts at only $12 for custom artwork (not a print). Click the "initial art" tab above for more details.
I can't look at this without singing the Rubber Duckie song from the Sesame Street record I had growing up....

Rubber Ducky, you're the one.
You make bath time lots of fun,
Oh, rubber ducky I'm awfully fond of you.
Rubber Ducky, Joy of Joys,
When I squeeze you, you make noise,
Oh, Rubber ducky you're my very best friend it's true.

Every day when I make my way to the tubby,
I find a little fella who's cute and yella and fuzzy,
Rubber Dubber Ducky......

Konlee - Kittens and Duckies and Flowers, Oh, My!

This was a fun sign featuring my new cursive font and larger 10"x20" size. Click "whimsical names" above for more information on a sign like this for your favorite little one.

*Frames are not included for artwork that has to be shipped. However, if you are local to Kansas City, we can discuss this as an option.

Olivia: New Font and New Artwork Sizing

So, if you didn't know, I do have a "day job". I'm an art therapist at a school for special needs kids, most of whom live there (as it is also a psychiatric residential treatment facility). I made this sign for my boss who delivered Olivia just a few days after I delivered the name sign to her. She requested a sign that was somewhat "tomboy-ish" and gave me several sports as well as the owl motif and color scheme of her room to work with. She liked my new cursive style seen here, but thought it might be too feminine. I came up with this font that is a bit different than any I've done before. Guess I'll call this the "Olivia" font.

Also, this artwork features my new size offering - 10"x 20". Up until now, my name art has been 8" x 20" (including mat). I've been finding more frames in the larger size and fewer in the 8"x20" size, so I decided to give people options. Though my artwork does not come framed* this picture shows a rather nice frame available at Hobby Lobby.

*I do not ship artwork with frames at this point. However if you are local (Kansas City area), and I am not shipping the artwork, we can discuss this as an option.

Set of Farm Themed Initials

I made this set of initials for a co-worker. Her children share a room, so I made these farm-themed initials so they would coordinate. (Last name is blocked for privacy).

Mazie

This sign was created for the 3-year-old niece of my neighbor. She gave me pictures of her room to coordinate with and also shared with me a Bible verse for her niece. This isn't the highest quality picture (as the daylight was a little strong) but the wording around the dove says, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free...Gal.5:1".

Have a favorite scripture you want incorporated? I can do that. Click the "Whimsical Names" link above for more information and pricing.

Stella...And "Are Giraffes Really Jungle Animals?"

This sign was a fun one to make. I just love animals, and my only guidelines for this sign were the color scheme, the addition of a peach, and jungle animals. My customer suggested a giraffe and then was insightful enough to comment, "I guess those really aren't jungle animals". I told her that was true, but it's amazing how many jungle themed nurseries include animals from the savanna (giraffe, lion, etc.). The giraffe tied in nicely with the color scheme.

My favorite part about this sign is the heart the monkeys' tails form.

I had fun creating this one because as I worked on it, my 14 year-old niece (who's pretty artistic) made a sign for her new little sister. I'll have to see if she took a picture of it and will let me post it.

Lily: Introducing a Slightly Different Style of Name Art

When I sat down to begin designing Lily's sign, I realized that doing it my normal style would lead to a fairly boring design. Two small "l"s sandwiching an"i" would just look like 3 slightly different sticks. I thought about capitalizing the first "L" but decided to branch out and try a scripty, cursive design. With this new design I couldn't make each letter a different pattern, so I opted for 2, divided by a ribbon. If you are interested in this new style, let me know you want the cursive letters.

Lily is about to be a big sister. Since I made Anaiah's sign to present at the baby shower, I thought Lily would like to have something of her own to open as well. She loves everything princess, and how could I not include lilies?
